| A
major world class manufacturer of automatic teller
machines uses a HEATFLEX silicone rubber heater
assembly to protect sensitive components from
damage caused by condensation and cold conditions.
This assembly uses a silicone heater that is factory
vulcanized to an aluminum plate. Also incorporated
is a high limit thermostat to protect the assembly
in case of fan failure. The appropriate wire harness
and connector are included in this assembly.
A leading biomedical equipment
maker uses a HEATFLEX Kapton(tm) heater to incubate
bacterial cultures. A HEATFLEX Kapton(tm) heater
was chosen for several reasons. The electronics
in the system, as well as the bacteria itself,
will not tolerate any out-gassing. The temperature
control of this system also requires that the
sample be held at a plus or minus 1 degree tolerance.
Because the Kapton(tm) heater has only .003"
of insulation between the actual element and the
incubator, this critical temperature control can
be handled with minimal overshoot.
To decrease the time in which
automotive service personnel can recharge an air-conditioning
system, the manufacturer of air-conditioning recharging
equipment uses a HEATFLEX silicone rubber heater
to maintain the refrigerant bottle temperature
thereby maintaining a high flow rate. This custom
designed heater uses heavy duty sewn on straps
for repeated attachment and removal from refrigerant
bottles without failure. The bottle temperature
is controlled by an integral thermostat in the
heater. As a safety backup mechanism a one shot
thermal fuse is also incorporated in the same
area.
A manufacturer of semiconductor
processing equipment needed a circular platen
held at 700F with minimal temperature variation
from center to the outside edge. A HEATFLEX mica
heater with a controlled wattage profile provided
the performance required. The heater was designed
to provide more wattage toward the outside edge
to compensate for edge loss. The requirement that
HEATFLEX mica heaters be clamped fit well with
the customer's platen design.
